As an alternative, the Apple Store has an Iomega 320GB Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Hard Drive for €149, with free delivery. AFAIK it works with PCs or Macs.

My neighbour bought one of those seagates in blanch, and had to bring it back... it was like starting up a washing machine on spin! They gave him another seagate, and that was even louder!

And anyway, they are crappy looking and fecking huge! if you dont believe me, then just look at the link above!

I got the 250gb WD a month ago from Komplett for €110. It grand... no problems, and is power saving too. Although you would want to be buying a bit from them as postage is €12 upwards!

Considering things on Komplett are cheap anyway, €12 isn't too bad.

Almost all HD's work with Macs and PC's once they are formatted correctly.

My pet hate about all these enclosures is the seperate PSU. I have one where the PSU is in the plug and it much handier to use/carry.
