Is anyone here a fan/critic of Chad Waterbury's workouts? I've done a few of them and found that some days can be tough, others can be a bit easy. For example, this day is easy even if i lift my max weight.
Total sets per muscle group: 6

    Movements per muscle group: 2

    Movement plane: Horizontal Upper Body

    Reps per set: 5

    Load: 7RM (reps max)

    Rest: 60 seconds between sets

Pressing Exercises: Flat Dumbbell Bench Press and 20-30? Decline Barbell Bench Press

Pulling Exercises: Seated Cable Rows and Bent Over Barbell Rows with a supinated (palms up) grip. If seated cable rows aren’t an option, use Facedown Dumbbell Rows on a 30? incline bench.
But this day has the same amount of exercises yet I'm in bits after it
Total sets per muscle group: 6

    Movements per muscle group: 2

    Movement plane: Vertical Upper Body

    Reps per set: 12

    Load: 15RM

Rest: 75 seconds between giant sets

Pressing Exercises: Standing Dumbbell Military Press and Dips

Pulling Exercises: Chin-ups and Upright Rows

Anyway, if anyone else follows Chads workouts, could u comment please?

I 've just completed his ABBH 1 program and found it pretty good, definitly made some good gains on it anyhow. I like his programmes as there very different then the bodypart a day training i'd been doing for the last year and i like the idea of total body training. You doing ABBH 2 is it? I'm starting his Total Body training on Tuesday now looking forward to it. I do agree though sometimes you do feel like you could have done more in a session.

I've never done one of Chad's but I have used pre-written programmes before where some days tend to be less demanding than others. The total workout frequency & volume is high though, but the programme is tailored (with the adding of these less demanding days) to just about prevent you from over-training. I'd say trust the programme & see how you get on with it, alot of people like Chad Waterbury's stuff alot.

I did his HIIT programme before. Got pretty damn good results out of it but as you say some days are easy and others are pretty tough. I guess since on some programmes you are going doing 8 sessions a week it makes sense that one session will be very hard going and another will be significantly lighter so as to get some form of recovery when you don't have 24 hours to spare.
