Anyone know who took this down?

I capitulated with 13 left. Donked a 25k stack when my BB (1k/2k) was raised by a 50k stack, I re-raised all in with 55 and didn't catch a miracle to pass out the KK I ran into :p

All the worse considering it paid 9 and there were at least 6 stacks in big trouble :(

Mind you, not as bad as poor old Ollieboy who was moved to my table with a 60k stack and was tourney CL by a mile at that that stage (4 tables left). He got moved, gave half his stack to Joe the show, then got moved again and built back up to 50k. Then came back to my table, called a PFR from his SB with 78 and went AI on a 256 board. He was called after a major dwell up by the OR who tabled 1010. No help for Ollie who was left with 2 BBs and he went out a couple of hands later in 14th.

This capped a miserable week of bubbles or thereabouts for me. Was 13th in the Fitz on Friday also

I went out in fifth, Chip stacks seemed to be even enough when I left. Coming to the final table there was an overwhelming chip leader but he seemed so afraid to double opponenets up he was playing fairly weak, I dont think he called one reraise after he had bet. I'm not sure who took it down but my money would of been on the english lad in the pink(salmon :)) top, he was making some great plays and seemed very solid.

I ended up going out with 66 vs aq. Blind levels had just gone up leaving me with 9bb I raised utg and bb reraised all in if I folded I would of been left with 5 bb with big and small blinds to come so it was a pretty obvious call, I lost, looking back on it I probably should of just open pushed, that said I dont think bb was folding AQ as I had been fairly aggressive at the final table.

I was disappointed to go out in fifth as I had only been all in twice during the whole day, the other time was just after the first break when I was down to 3.5k after an initial starting stack of 7.5k I had 88 and went all in and got a very generous call from the poet who had k6sooooted, there was no help for him and by the dinner break I was up to fourty k as a result of some aggressive play and some nice hands. I got a twenty k pot early enough when I had trip fours checked the flop on the turn player to my left(the poet) goes all in, I flat call and english lad reraises all in (I have him covered by a few hundred I think) I call. Initial all in insta mucks (on the turn!) and english lad has two pair and doesnt hit a miricle river.

All in all it was a good day and definately the best structure around for a €250 game.
I got in through a €25 sat before the main one started off, so leaving with €1000 is a fairly profitable day.
That said I was disappointed coming so close yet so far, especially considering there were three tickets for the festival main event up for grabs.

I played with the chap with the english accent for much of the tourney, I was very impressed, he was very aggressive, maybe once or twice where he didnt need to be (on the final table he open pushed, everyone in the room knew instantly he had jacks, lol) Well done to him.
I wasnt overly impressed with the other chap who chopped it, and not just cause he knocked me out lol.

I find your aggressiveness comment interesting, there is a fairly small poker community down here and holdem has only been played for about two years first club opened 18 months ago. something that I have been thinking about recently is how playing styles have developed in different regions/county's. Waterford poker has definitely developed in an ultra aggressive manner ( Alex for example would not be considered that aggressive of a player here). Kerry on the other hand in general has developed in the tight is right school of poker. just think its interesting how its developing

Really enjoyed this, got of to a very good solid start, didnt have a great starting table, but I got moved to 5 out of the 7 tables and one of them twice, so never got a solid go at one table, which was what I need. No excuse the push with 78 was horrible and I dont know why I did it, the english player made a great call, but I think I would have fold if I was him the way I had been trapping all day and he saw most of it.

In general I think I played to much deep stack tourneys this week and I again got up to the cl and threw it away, I just got very tired and the hand with AA tilt me a lot against Joe. It was a horrible hand and I'll have nightmares about it for ages.

Wp to everyone who cash and see you at the 1k in 2 weeks time.

Can't believe that luckbox got third. With 2 tables left I had him AI (he'd about 14k - I'd about 33k) preflop with my AK v his 33. Flop came A high, turn blank river 3 ARGGGGGGHHHHHH.

first post on here just been reading some of the post of late. 30 something i was the one with the KK v ur 55, just bad timing for your play back at me and you made the correct lay down when u said u had ace jack cuz i had ace king.

this was my first time playing the tournament and i was strolling nicely along to the final table wit bout 60k, and with ten players left there was a couple of short stacks who seemed to hit from behind and double up. on our table one guy had bout 8k left and pushed and guy before me goes all in for 35k or so i look down at pocket tens and throw them away( was this the right move or not i wonder??) the pusher showes k 7 against other guys ace king. flop comes out wit a ten and then a 7 on turn or river, doubling the guy up. the guy then doubles up again and is back in it. so stil ten players left after bout 30 mins i am down to 28k and i push wit ace 8 suited after 3 limpers and get a call from the guy who had ace king earlier. he shows q-j (cant believe he called wit over 1/3 of his stack wit this) and hits a jack on the river and i bubble it!!

excellent tournament but i was not too happy wit coming on the bubble i most say. it was a pleasure to play amongst a high quality field!! i hope to get back soon

I think it is correct to throw away your tens in that position, as most of the time if someone is raising a shortstack going all in on the bubble he has a premium hand(well should have one) and is trying to build a side pot. I'm not a big fan of raising a players all in on the bubble and whoever it was that did it should be ashamed of themselves, lol.

Willow did it on our table the same hand as on your one but she genuinely thought that the bubble had been burst.

hey ollie, i was watching the hand and it was hard luck, i suppose the fact that it was against joe it made it worse as he tends to rub it in, anyway ollie you played well the hole day....

Just as a side note...instead of paying €250 into this, i decided to use my blind omaha skills to gain access. I sit down in seat 1 and announce that the ticket is mine, save urself some time lads but they dont listen...

My starting hand of 438J was no match the others, especially Ollies AKKJ as i hit a magical 7 on the river for a straight...

Hey Ian..wanna play blind omaha for bankrolls?????

keep thinking i did the right thing but it has been annoying me ever since, i would of knocked two people out at once and got my stack to around 100k wit only 8 players left.

The very reason I would have called with the tens in your spot is the same reason I pushed with the 5s in my pot v your KK. I figured with my stack I could probably limp into the money but it would be torture trying to get there with only 20k odd after that orbit and then the prizes to 4th were poor enough. I decided I didn't want to limp or fold & I thought I had a chance of making you lay down and if not I figured I had a reasonable race to give me a very playable stack.

You might remember just after the break I called an 8k AI on my BB with KQ (I'd about 18k before the call) and flopped a set. Same principle - if you want to make it do it in style :D

You played very solid from the time I joined your table and I figured you would make the FT, bad luck on bubbling. I bet that 1010 lay down is keeping you awake :(

yea that was the best reason for playing them, to get a good stack. definately keeping me awake yes. i was surprised you called with king queen but fair play to you for puttin him on a small pair.

i hope to do slightly better the next time i go down there. mite try a few online sats for the main event. r u intending to go to that one??
