    The Warwick www.thewarwick.com

    Avoid like the plague...

    GPO

    Boo Radleys
    Karma

    Pubs:
any that doesn't have someone with a tracksuit and a hairy slug over their top lip smoking johnny blues outside the front door...

The Quays pub and upstairs in the Quays - live music, decent enough, nice atmosphere.

People in their mid thirties don't go out. They have to stay home minding kids or they are too broke from paying a mortgage to be able to afford to go out. Occasionally you will see them in small groups, like kids on a school tour huddled over one pint in the bar in the Quality Hotel in Oranmore. I think I saw one in Freeneys once too...

I am in my forties so I have my mortgage paid off and am spending all my money on gadgets, cars and motorbikes.

Some of us can pay a mortgage and still go out (and have a girlfriend).

Have to this agree with the Kings head as a suggestion! Always full of tourists or 'boys down from the hills' allowed in for the weekend!

Place is also full of people who think they can handle their drink 'responsibly'

Try the quieter pubs with a local crowd and The warwick is where all the crowd goes to hide from the wanckers in town!

The Roisin Dubh as a bar or nightclub is good. You'll get students there, but you will everywhere, and the students there are indy and non-loutish

The Quays I would say, you can get good bands to suit everyone needs

...which means angular haircuts, men in drainpipe jeans and overdesigned Myspace profiles.

I'm tired of being a wannabe crusty... I wannabe a crusty!

on topic... Roisíns is ok but it is very hippyish, Quays might be a good idea alright, overall I would reccommend halo the most

Pubs: Taafes, Freeneys, Garavans, Dew Drop, an Tobar, Massimos, Mcswiggans

    Club: Warwick

The Roisin Dubh is one of the best pubs in town, but maybe not so much for the mid thirties.

I always go to Busker Browns when I'm in town. If I'm going to a night club (i.e once every blue moon) then it has to be the Warwick - eventhough the bar service is really really poor.

If you are over 39, then Jurassic Park :D AKA The Spanish Arch Bar is a safe bet.

    Garavans is great too.

MEMO TO SELF: Must go to Garavans again soon
