how do i block sites in firefox

    can anyone help me to block certain sites in firefox.
    i have tried to do this through the options>content>block but it doesnt work, for example i tried to block rotten.com cause we all know its a sick site but when i went back into rotten.com i was still able to see images.
    there is a huge list of other sites i am trying to block but cant so can anybody help me.
    by the way i have a huge amount of sites banned in the internet options on settings but does this list apply to firefox

    You can get scriptblock and that will disable anything nasty from firing off.

    Then get adblock and set the domain name of rotton.com and it will automatically block it.

    Or you can do the following.

    1. Enable LMHosts in your network settings.

    2. Edit the file c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

    3. Add the following line.

    127.0.0.1 rotton.com

    4. save the file.

    Start->Control Panel->Network Connections->right click on the connection and select Properties. Double click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), then click Advanced->tick the box Enable LMHOSTS in the WINS tab.

    Hi , what is your purpose for blocking the sites ? Is it a business or family situation ?
