Is the component cable that comes with the premium 360 the best visual solution?
I know it doesnt have hdmi, but is there a better way to hook the system up assuming the tv supports every connection type?

Depending on the TV you can get a better picture from a VGA cable, but its not much of a difference.

component looked great on my tv with my friends 360, but we have to bring back tv to currys as theres a design flaw and currys wont give us a new replacemnt as its 2 months old so we have to send it to LG for repair or new, hey its better than getting the display model in currys.
I thought there would be a law against currys not giving us a new one as its a design flaw and it wouldnt matter how long we waited to bring it back it would still be there and they said if we took display model they would put ours on display, but is that not illegal as the model has a design flaw.

Was just thinking about this too. Im about to get a samsung 32" and had really forgotten about using vga. In theory vga should be better because its a proper digital connection, right?

VGA is analog. The 360 doesn't output any digital signal.

Whoops, thats me decided then. Never thought there was any difference with the two anyway, cant see the point of spending another 30 euro on a another analog cable.....

    Thanx for that ciaran

Ive used both, and I prefer component, although vga was on a different telly... one that wasn't as good, its hard to get nice color from vga, u have to fidlle with it alot, and i found that black was quite bright, like black on a normal telly with the brightness turned up! Component for me... apparently they're realeasing a hdmi lead for the 360.

I use my screen as a PC monitor so I have to use component. I've had no issues with picture ever, even on games people say have 'tearing' etc. Using a Samsung 26" in 'Gaming Mode'

VGA does display DVDs up to 1080p though, component only to 576p.

yeah the dvd upscaling has sold me on the vga cable - pity sendit and play are out of stock tho :(

still, the component seems fine for hd games if you ask me!

Cheers people, its good to know that ive spent all the money that I need to on my 360 hardware. It means I can budget more funds for the games to really show off my setup
