Early stages of an STT on PPP. Villain has only played 1 out of the 1st 16 hands (heavy raise) so although based on limited info looks to be tight and aggressive at least in early stages. My image similar and table in general has a reasonably tight bias.

I'd have to call it - wrongly probably.
My thinking would be that if he had a ten he would let you bet out and raise you. Especially if you had a tight image he'd expect you to throw away a hand here if you hadn't hit and he goes all in. I'd put him on AJ or KQ here just to justify my call - more likely KQ as I could see myself making this play with KQ but less likely with AJ

And then I'd call him an idiot when he flips over his pocket Js lol

I would call too and expect to see QQ or KK.

I think very few players would play trips like this and you mentioned he raised heavy on his previous hand. Id most likely put him on QQ,AQ,AJ, hes going all in because he feels he has the best had right now and dosent want to see another card in case the K or A flop which you most likely have one of.

Its a hard one and the fact that even if you do call there's still one to act behind you, did he check because he missed the flop or was he slowplaying trips. I suspect because you didnt give any details he just folded but it would have came into consideration when deciding to call/fold. To be honest im more likely to fold because its early in the tournament and the dangerous board and i still have a reasonable size stack. If im getting shortstacked its a call but in this case id fold with a lump in my throat.

toss em, but feel very bad about it
Its an overplayed hand but he has A10, K10 more than likely, hell J10 is not that unlikely.
Unlikely AJ. KQ is a possibility.

    Id fold

considering you wouldnt have posted this up unless you lost and felt outdrawn, id say the move was, in this case, to have folded.

    But usually obv call

Just to back up my thoughts on the matter, its more down to the players than the cards.
I've seen this kind of hand way overplayed at this level.

Actually, 1200 already in the pot, I suppose you have to call but I think you are behind

The only concern I'd have is, would the hands you're ahead of now not push pre-flop? I don't play STTs, though, so whatever.

I'm still calling anyway, you only need to be ahead 1 in 3 times (or so) for a call to be good. I'm sure that's plenty here.

    Thanks for the advice.

For what its worth, it was a coinflip to me as to whether I called or not. Obviously you would not expect TT, JJ nor the str8t draw to be played that way, so I had him on QQ, KK or Tx (ignored AA because of my holding). I put him on Tx and folded. He was called by the player behind who had QK and he turned over AJo. I recovered to finish a moderate 3rd after extracting the PC monitor from the dog's arse.

I still think this was a reasonable fold considering the board and its early stages of an STT, and the fact that so many people had different observations just re-inforces for me why i love poker.....more often than not everybody thinks theyre right

It doesn't matter when in a stt this occurs really, it's either a call or not irrespective.
    Personally I would have called.
