    Cold Starter:
    Prawn cocktail:

    Shred some lettice.
    Slice some cherry tomatoes.
Put into bowl (season with s&p)
Put a few prawns on top.
Make a Marie-Rose type sause (Ketchup + Mayo)
Paprika on top and bobs your uncle

    Hot Starter

    Stuffed Red Peppers:

    Half a few Red Peppers.
Drizzle with Olice Oil and throw in oven.
(while they are in the oven sort out the filling)

    Filling:
Just slice a few rasher and mushroom.
Saute in pan and then throw filling into the peppers.

    Alternative:
Start to scramble some eggs in a pan. Add spring onion + chive.
Fill the peppers and then finish with grated cheese.

    Enjoy.

If you wanted to do without the hassle of cooking/preparing something you could buy some nice antipasti if you're near a decent deli.

Bruschetta are simple. A basic recipie is here http://www.deliaonline.com/recipes/bruschetta-with-tomato-and-basil,1427,RC.html but if you google, there are many variations and alternative recipies.

See my earlier post on this thread.I suggested 2 starters already but also I just happen to agree with Hill Billys comments also.

quazzy - I think that bonkey is just taking the mick.

OP - If you could get back to us with what you're doing for mains we'd be better able to give you a few more ideas.

    i'm doing chicken for mains.

the stuffed peppers sound lovely, going to give them a trial run this weekend.

i love mushrooms but have done the stuffed one's so any other variations would be great.

    thanks again.
