See linked thread on the new Dell Inspiron 1501. http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=52286510#post52286510

Some might not think its a bargain but the integrated graphics are a lot better than on the other dells (unless you get something with a dedicated card). X2 at less than 700 yoyos looks a good deal to me.

Are they phasing out the 1300?

I don't think so, this is their new line using the AMD cpu rather than intel.

Any chance of some feedback on this? Girlfriend is looking at it.

Looks like a quite decent machine.. but have Dell been using AMD's long.. never saw them advertise anything but Intel.

The Sempron doesn't offer much over the celeron to be honest, nor does the X2 over the Core 2 Duo (in fact its worse), but for someone who likes to play the odd game the X1100 is infinitely better then the GMA900/950 in the Intel builds.

the reason why they dont advertise AMD is because Intel pay for half the ad if they play the intel tune/logo

i'd be interested to hear if any feedback on this on alright.... integrated grphis arnt worth a sh1te though if you use any graphics intensive machine or want to use vista on it though

    :D
Ordered 2 of these on Saturday, one for a customer and one for myself.
Should have them by the end of the week (or early next week) so I'll post some feedback then. Great to see AMD in the mix.
