cannot find my card reader!?!

    hi there!
    just recently i go to "my computer" and where my integrated card reader was (ie mmc drive F,xd drive g etc)is no longer there!!!
    what the bejaysus has happened?
    anyhelp would be appreciated,
    will i restore to a week ago maybe?

    just ran xp repair pro 2006 and not only can i not find my card drives but it has wiped drivers off for my external HDD,ball of S#ite!!!
    any recommendations?
    have not installed any new drives
    just thought i might have a virus so thats why i ran repair pro which i will now be taking off my system.
    where would they be in device manager??
    there is also a lot of usb connections with yellow exclamation marks on them!?!

    Something wrong with the USB controller so, try removing them and restart. You will probably need to get a hold of your motherboard disc, containing the drivers for the USB hubs.

    Eh I don't think so, do you know who manufactured your motherboard or if not the make/model of the PC?

    its an aldi pc from about 3 years ago!
    where can i get specific details of such things such as motherboard info etc

    there are also 4 unknown devices under the ports heading in device manager

    any usb device or card reader will not function for some unknown reason!?!
    which is a balls as i have everything on external HDD,
    nayone come to the rescue?plz
    some type of virus i reckon!

    try removing all the usb components in device manager, and restart the pc to see if windows will redetect them, right-click the device and select uninstall to remove

    hi all!
    I input memory card ,usb item(that previously worked)scanned for virus's(none!)and still nothing registers on the front of my 2004 medion aldi pc(u know the one with the integrated card reader in the front with 3 usbs)
    dont know what to do!
    Any kind souls out there guide me plz!
    UPDATE!!!
    When i plug it into the usb ports on the back of the pc,u never guess ,yup it works fine!
    now why in the hell is that?

    this is for your motherboard. it'll find all your drivers even scan your other hardware for drivers. should help, i have your pc, tis happened before after hd wipe
