Is the €150 game on in the Fitz still? How many runners does it tend to get and is it a good structure??? Anyone planning on playing it later???

    Thanks!!

Structure is, meh. Probably only about 30-35 runners. Not sure if I will go or not, probably not, but who knows.

Is there anything better on anywhere else though? I dont fancy the crapshoot in the SE!

I cant believe there is not other games on in Dublin tonight. Thurs is the night i think would be busiest for poker(fitz freerll used to get approx 90runners, se approx 80runners) as most people dont mind feeling knackered on a fri. Jackpot €20 is good for students etc,se = crapshoot that gets big fields(coz people tend to play mainly on a thurs), and fitz game structure i heard is minging for €150. A good €75 double chance, good structure, would go down great on a thurs

I continue to suggest this but it's like I'm speaking Klingon or something.

I suggested to Glenmc that Silks should move their Wednesday game to Thursday and the numbers would fly in rather then clashing with all the good options on a Wednesday night but he didn't really take it on board.

I've repeatedly moaned about the game on Thursday in the Fitz to the powers that be, and yet everytime I go in (to play the Sunday €40 rebuy or the Friday scalps for old times sake) they greet me like I've abandoned the place becasue I excerise my right to play in a decent game elsewhere on occasion. If the Thursday game had a decent structure, if the Scalps got a revamp or if they altered the wednesday rebuy to the same as the Sunday night rebuy I'd still be playing in the Fitz three nights a week!! Maybe its a good thing!! :p:D

I'd love to get involved in the management of a casino for a while and try to get a better understanding of the thinking from the business side of things just to understand a bit better why things are done in certain ways.....

Of course if I was managing a casino I wouldn't give a fúck about tournie junkies and would be 100% giving the cash players what they wanted and looking after my asian gambling friends. End of story I guess....

As another aside I'm going to start a thread to discuss the implications of the new licencing coming down the line as I think these are very interesting times for casinos in Ireland.

How bad is it Dom? Like is it worth going due to being the best of a bad bunch? Starting stack and blind levels??

You get 5k starting stack, 3x20 minute and the rest are 30 minute with Antes. The antes increased every level, but I voiced my displeasure to Luke about this a couple of weeks ago, so I don;t know if he will change it or not, but nearly every time in the last 6 or 7 times I have gone the structure has changed in some way or another.

2000 stack then another 2000 anytime after the 1st hand. all levels at 20 mins. It sounds good on paper but always dissolves into an absolute crapfest for the last 2 tables. expect the av. stack at the FT to be about 12 BB's!!

I think it's a tourney that could really do with an overhaul. I'd like to see it start earlier - 8pm (and that's 8pm on the dot) with longer levels (either keeping it 20 mins for the first 4 levels, and then extending to 30-40 mins after, or having it 30 mins all the way.) Deeper stacks would be nice too - 2500 + 2500

Yeh that would be super. Lets be honest though they are not going to do this for a €50 buy in. They have a steady flow of ppl for the cash games with the current structure and its not like there struggling for numbers with it bein prob the most popular weekly tourney in Dublin!

That's not the structure in the jackpot €20?!

The structure is starting stack 2500 with 3x30min blind lvls, break, then 20 min levels after the break. Haven't been in the last few weeks, but numbers are usually steady at about 40-50, it is getting insanely popular.

With the increasing numbers playing the starting stack should be raised to 3k.

The structure ain't great. The general standard is woeful. But, you won't get much more for 50 bills I am afraid. I play every week in the hope that I will catch some cards in the first couple of levels and accumalate chips. A finish in the top three would equal a decent return on your money. Bear in mind though - you won't outplay some of the callingstations that play this one...lol.

He wasn't asking me about the jackpot structure.

the structure of the fitz game has been changed to try and get it to its best so that every1 is happy some people complain that a long structure on a thursday is to long with work on fridays!! and some complain it turns into a crap shoot i personally think the first ante structure with the double 20 minute levels was the best

I think you've hit the nail on the head here Eoghan. Thursday nigh is the busiest night of the week for the cash tables in the SE. Why would they want people to last longer in the tourney and decide it was too late to play cash games?

Played in the Fitz last night. There was 3 20min levels then after the break they were 30 mins. Now, at the 150/300 level there was a 25 runnig ante. When Luke came over to announce this I asked were the antes going to go up every level. He said they were but he could see myself and others were not best pleased with this and he duly went straight to the computer and changed the structure so as the ante stays the same for two levels and from the 500/1000 level the clock was stretched to 45mins. I thought this was fantastic and made for a lot more play. Luke was happy to listen to peoples feedback and change the whole structure so wp Luke gg!!!!:D

What time did it finish at Eoghan and how many runners? At least people can see what I have learnt in recent times (and perhaps others knew) that if you voice your opinions, especially in a constructive manner, then Luke is always ready to hear them. I was too tired to go last night.

There was only 27 runners unfortunatley. there was 10 left at 1 o'clock when i left and id say there was a couple of hours left with the longer levels.

i actually thought the structure was poor enought, when the antes came in i felt very short stacked it was costing 800 a round only one hour into the tournament. this was 1O% of average stack per round. i ended up pushing and getting called by 78h for half his stack...
any ideas on who won this?

A very young looking guy with a slightly northern accent?

He always seemed to have Aces preflop and top set after the flop.

oh yeah the guy who had 8 sets before the break!lol. did he play well after that or did he just luckbox all the way? seemed to be getting great cards but hard 2 carry that the whole night..
