Hi,
I'v been doing quite a bit of hotel booking lately and I'v used hotels.com a lot. This place always seems to give much cheaper rates than the hotel itself does when you go to their site/email them. What normally happens is the website Hotels.com or a group of them rent/lease out an entire floor or block of rooms from the hotel, it's then up to them to make any money out of it.
