laptop tuner card

    hi guys,
    really interested in buying a digital tv tuner card for my laptop but i did some research on a uk website and they said that freeview digital tv is only availble in certain areas of uk. Problem is i not sure if Ireland is able to recieve any channels ,
    any one got any links or suggestions on where to go for some advice

    The bottom line is you cannot receive Digital Terrestrial TV in Ireland, including Freeview.

    However, there are trials underway in Dublin.

    I will leave you in the capable hands of Watty & co. who will be able to fill you in.

    The cards are of very variable quality. Some can to Analogue too. Some areas can pickup UK TV. Anything bought before launch of a real Irish service could be wasted as the current Louth & Dublin trials may not remotely relate to any future launched service.

    PCMCIA better than USB 2.0. Forget any USB1.0/USB1.1. Firewire/iLink is good but not very available.
