Going on a Campsite Holiday in France

    Hello all,

I am on the verge of booking a holiday for June '07 with KelAir Campotel. They seem like a very good Irish company. We have 3 kids aged under 5. Planning on sailing with Brittany Ferries from Cork (even though Rosslare is nearer to me, but Brittany's crossing is faster on a newer ship). Am most likely going to stay at La Grande Métairie site in Carnac which is only 3 hrs from Roscoff.
Has anyone been there and could give some feedback or tips.

    Thank in advance...

Thanks for that quick reply Dub13. It seems you and I are in the same boat, literally!! Kelair Campotel (www.campotel.com) have been well recommended to me and would be worth a look. I would imagine cos I'm a novice to this kind of trip and with 3 infants, I'd be better off booking it as a package.

Anyone any good links for what to do in Brittany?

Le Grande Metairie is absolutely huge, it has a deadly pool complex, all the facilities you'd want...and a pet farm thing! I was always with keycamp in France though. The weather's much better than Northern Brittany. Carnac-Plage has some deadly beaches, and you're quite near Quimper- really nice town. Go to the creperies, and try to see Le Mont St Michel before you leave, though it's a good bit out of the way. Brittany is more cultural then some parts of France, like, Normandy has the D-Day beaches, and Loire has the vineyards and chateaus. Lots of sporting facilities too..
