Hey, I can't play online poker in college as installing things is blocked, and the ports are blocked for my laptop.

Anyway, are there any good sites that allow you to just load up an applet or something, and play on the site, no installing necessary?
Real or play money will do.

    Thanks,

Thanks, I'll check them out. I have no doubt most will be blocked, if not all, but here's hoping.
I know my friend can play on an online poker applet(on the college network) but it is only for play money and can only be played in the middle of the night until noon or something. Not ideal.

Pokerroom definitely works behind college firewalls as there's a java based option.

It gets to the connecting to server, attempt #1 part, and just stays there forever.

  • I'm in a similar situation, as i have quite a number of wasted hours between lectures (Not long enough to do anything relevent at all). I've been looking for a poker game, one that i can just download and play, to improve my knowledge (Limited enough) of the game. No network interference, as college network is pretty tight, just a local poker game.

    Anybody got any recommendations?

Ah they must have tightened up the firewalls since my college days so.

If you have an internet society that uses a different proxy for web connection then you can use a combination of socks cap and a program like http2socks to tunnel through the firewall. I think most people here do CS so should be fairly easy to configure.

Try the Link i posted it will give you more info on this. Some of the 3rd or 4th year CA's should be able to help you with giving it a go.
