hey, sorry if there is a more suitable place for this. The boiler water pressure level went down all the way today and now we have no heat (im cold:mad: ). I dont know how to top it up. I rang the boiler company who told us to ring the builders of the house (estate is approx 5yrs old) and they didnt help, just told us to get a plumber. Seems like a job a bit too simple just to get a plumber out especially for it. So if there are any plumbers or any1 who can help or even suggest what to do that would be great. Do I need to get any info on the boiler or anything for u? Thanx in advance

in the hot press there will be 3 taps probably
2 of these are open, one will be closed
closed means that it is turned as far clockwise as it will go

get mrs ruu to stand in front of the boiler - there is a dial which tells you what pressure the system is at !!!

open the tap in the hotpress the dial that mrs is looking at should move

close the tap when the dial reaches 1 & 1/2

    Hi wba88

I have the 28e version ans there is a very small valve in the hotpress. I use a flat scredrivers just to twist a 1/2 turn and it refills the boiler then turn it back to off when the the Mrs just lets me know when its at 1 bar.

    Hope this helps

Sounds exactly like what was happening to me. Is your boiler at ground level?

Secondly, have many new estates cropped up in your area in the last six months?

If so, there's three options, none of which are easy or cheap:

    1. Install a pump in the attic. Prices range from €400 to €900 based on how cheeky your plumber is feeling on the day.

    2. Re-pipe the feed coming from the attic with thicker pipe. Thicker pipe = greater pressure.

    3. Install a cold-water feed at ground level to your boiler. This was the cheapest and most practical option for me, althought the poor Polish plumber had to pull out almost every fitted kitchen unit to install the feed into the utility room. I'm back showing about 1.5 bar on the boiler now, whereas before it was .8 bar and the boiler refused to fire on anything lower than 1 bar.

Yer our estate is all Vokera 14 and 28 versions of the boiler.
Ive had a PCB, ICB and the MCB all changed.

These boilers are illegal the UK now as they are D classed efficient (78%)

So guess where there coming to ......

About time they banned them here and put in Combi's or something more efficient
