You are very close especially if you get sound and no video. Make sure the TV is set to AV.
Also check if there is a 2nd input on the TV.
Make sure the TV Out function is enabled on the player. I think it's under Settings > Display Settings.
If all else fails, try it on a different TV.

......and make sure your player is set to PAL, mine was set to NTSC by default. It's in the settings and your problem sound exactly the same as I had.

ok dont want to panic you here, might be just you have it set to ntsc instead of pal, however i got the cable and had the same issue, contacted creative support and they sent new cable , same issue, turns out it was the sync adaptor once they sent me a new one all was good, old adaptor worked fine in every way except when i connected to tv, id see a distored picture for a split second when i connected it and then poof nothing.

Sound, looks like that was the problem. When i get home I`ll check it out to see if it works.

    Thanks.

No! changing it to PAL didn`t work. Its a very old TV though so I`ll go home from college at the weekend and see if it works on that.
