Depends where the lawn is located. If you are near the coast, especially the East coast you can cut anytime. I usually cut up to Christmas as the grass keeps growing until then and frost is rare where I live.

I cut mine weekend before last but I woke up this morning with frost over, so glad it had just over a week to grow before today
