    Hi all!

I am currently creating a website similar to digg.com

I was wondering of anyone knows where I can get software or a website template (free or Open Source preferably but I'm willing to pay if necessary) that would do the job for me.

    Thanks in advance... G23

maybe the below will help not sure they are exactly what u are looking for though but might point you in the right direction

http://wordpress.org/ [cant say i have used it myself but have heard it is good]
    http://www.pivotlog.net/

Also your hosting supplier might have a blog script\software installed on the server already so it may be worth speaking to them

    Regards
    Tommy

Yeah, I hear good things about Wordpress too - dunno about scalability if you're planning on some big website, though.

    Thanks guys... Wordpress it is.

Anyone know if any Irish based webhosting company meet the Wordpress hosting requirements ?

The Wordpress requirements are so minimal you could run the software off a piece of week old gum. Every paid host will be able to run it.

    Accepted.

I was looking for an easy life... are there any Irish Hosting companies that do the WordPress "auto-install" thing?

Unless they're using Windows servers. If you hear "ASP", run away! :D

Blacknight do the auto-install/upgrade of Wordpress using Installatron. I don't know if its available on all hosting packages...

They do a fairly cheap blog hosting package with wordpress and everything ready to go for you.
