I was thinking of trying out some stud, to keep things interesting. Do any of you play it much, or have you ever tried it? Whats to be expected? Is there more variance than holdem? Is it more or less likely to see better players at the lower stakes than holdem?

    sorry for the double post

From my limited experience, online stud is a bit tougher than holdem but it is quite beatable in the lower limits. From 10/20 up, the games get very aggro and are much tougher.

I've not really looked for stud games in the last while but the lower limits are dreadful. I was playing 5/10 and there are some amount of muppets playing. The players at that level are very aggressive and bluff way too much so you have to call them down a hell of a lot of the time. At the lower limits people will stay in the hand too long but they generally aren't as aggressive.

Since the Horse games started on PS quite a few of the stud players seemed to have moved over to them.
