Wake Island - revert patch..??

I was looking to find a wake island onlyy server last night, and after I found a few, for every one I tried to connect to, I was told I would have to revert to a previous patch - eh no way sunshine! - so i just found some other maps to try out the new joystick. .

Anyway, my question is, why wouldn't these servers be fully patched up? - is there any reason they wouldn't be applying the latest patch?

    Just curious...

(Oh and it's obviously going to take me some time to become a Master of the Skies!) - I could fly perfectly, but i couldn't bomb for sh*t!. Found it very hard to gauge the correct time to release the bombs - suppose it's to do with angle of attack and speed and all that jazz)...

    D.

Try bombing, then switch to outside view, so you see where it lands: then adjust it sooner or later.

Create a LAN game, and play by yourself, so that you can firstly concentrate on non-moving targets, and then progress.

I got a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro - very happy with it - it has plenty of programmable buttons and a really solid base, which helps when your nearly falling off the chair trying not to get shot down!

Don't fly as much as i used to, but if you can get your hands on a microsoft sidewinder, its worth it. A lot of flyers i know highly recommend them. Try E-bay for one.

Can you only use the joystick while flying...?

to be honest, I wouldn't be using it for anything else - just bought it for the flying as using the keboard was way to awkward for me...

I presume it could be configured for use of vehicles and walking etc etc..... not for me though.

I lothe joysticks. I'm a master chopper pilot and its all keyboard and mouse. Joysticks are weird.

As for jets, the only way to get good at bombing to swap to rear view to see exactly where it lands and adjust for the next time. I had to bind some insane system with easily accessible view commands.
