Go away horrible Rugby League person. You have your own reservation, sorry forum, for your hideous amputation of a game. Please keep away from this forum which is for the proper version of our great game.

PS international my arse. How many of the Irish team were born in Ireland? They're as Irish as the Lebanese team is Lebanese.

Mad Finn banned for personal abuse.

BigDragon has permission to post here and I'd appreciate it if you go away if you're going to act like that.

Its OK. Mad Finn is correct. I am a horrible Rugby League person. I am also a horrible Rugby Union person just like 99% of the people that play RL in Ireland. Just like the thousands of Irish people that watch Super League on Sky. Just like the 5 Irish Union playing lads that are in the team on merit, just like the many GAA players that play RL at Universities in the UK cause they are ignored by Union clubs. Just like the best oval ball winger in the world...from Wicklow.

I played both codes until retiring and love both passionately.

Thanks for making us feel like Jackie Robinson, that horrible baseball player from the 40's.

I'm proud to be from the land of saints and scholars. Thank you for reminding me about ignorance.

When you get unbanned, come over to the dark side and see for yourself. We can have an open and honest discussion on the pro's and con's of both great games as played in Ireland by many rugby players who love the oval ball....like me. Try and learn something. You'll be a nicer person.

Mad Finn doesn't strike me as the type of person capable of engaging in such a discussion.

Don't worry about Mad Finn, mate...

I've played League (one season with the Eagles) and I would defy any Union player to give it a go.

Harder hits, faster game and (IMHO) a LOT more fun.

Keep up the good work Big Dragon. Long live the Era of the Biff!

I think it would be a fruitless exercise to have a "league is better than union" debate here so let that be the end of it.

    Cheers.

And even more pointless because it is really easy to play both codes in Ireland.

The summer schedule of league in Ireland means you go back to Union in September a lot fitter and used to bigger hits both in offence and defence. It's also great for those players (especially props like myself) who see f**k all ball during a game of union, because you pretty much get as much ball as you can handle in league. Personally I don't find it anywhere as good to watch as a good game of union, but playing it is a different matter completely. It's a bit of a shame that the RLI have (or had in my day) a tendency to be quite petty among themselves.
