Every Sites but mail sites

    quick question... on my brothers pc here and he cant access yahoo, hotmail sign up or gmail. I remember this problem before but I forget how to fix it?

    any help would be greatly appreciated

    not sure if this helps but i got a laptop last week and am now using wireless, for some reason gmail wont open unless the laptop is working on the mains, just loads blank page, not sure if this is same issue.

    yeah same problem. I remember having this issue before and fixing it easilt enough, but I forget how now....

    Generally speaking, if the computer can access other sites, but some appear unavailable, then there is some sort of security software blocking these sites.

    So check what security software you have running (e.g. Norton, McAfee) - the problem most likely is in there.

    Could be the case but would usually get a messege such as "blocked by norton etc".....

    OP are you getting any sort of error msg?

    Check that the computers date and time are correct. Had a similar problem before with gmail and msn messenger not working because of this.

    Could be a MTU issue too. Had the exact same prob on my BB connection and that solved it.
