if it was out of warranty i'd do that. Might aswell get it looked at before it runs out. Worse things is i only got my HDTV yesterday. Got literally one night of HD gaming out it.

Might purchase this for the new/repaired one

ive heard that the intercooler only draws more power from the xbox causing more heat + its noisier

Yeah stay away from those things. I was only listening to a podcast the other day about them. They seem to cause more heat plus can be extremly difficult to remove from the back of the machine.

I am too now part of the red ring of light death to xbox 360 gang, I contcated microsoft today and they said they would troublehsoot something about wiping clean the AV connector jesus are these guys really trying to piss us off. Then they said to put the xbox into a cardboard box and I said no I want one sent out as like what happened with my original xbox when that too bit the dust. So she said she would do that by putting it down as surface shipping. I have to wait 15 working days all together for the whole thing but hopefully when I get it back it will be an actual console that is fit to be sold. Seriously MS what the hell are you doing in the QC department are you really trying to piss off all your loayal Xbox followers.

I just grabbed a box outta work. They said it would take 4 working days just to get the box and labels to me or i could get labels by email in 24.

The box just doesn't have to have any reference to MS or xbox on it. Apparently one went missing with a courier in the us. Funny though cause the UPS label says video game system and the UPS courier has to inspect the contents on collection.

They've changed their policy on the box in the last few weeks by now making the customer supply it.

i would really try the AV connector thing cos I got the ring of death before but it was just the AV cable being loose

FYI - the intercooler from PLAY will only be shipped to a UK address anyway.

Microsoft is just trying to save a lot of money on these Xboxes and letting their reputation with regards to reliability tank. Or maybe they decided to approach hardware the same way they do with their software: "Ship it out without thoroughly testing it and fix it if enough customers complain about it."

Does anyone know if this is just a temporary solution? I just got the three rings of death, tried this and it worked, but don't know how long it'll last for.

Am I better off sending it off anyway? Are the repairs still free? The console was bought at launch, just over a year ago.

Im in the same situation, just got it at launch and only now is it f*cked up, so where to start in gettin this sorted out ?? So anyone that had this please tell us your quick solution in solving this problem.

Hi lads, I heard that MS were going to fix the launch consoles because they admitted there was something wrong with them so it may be worth giving them a call.

Don't make it easy for them. It's not too hard to use the search
