Cancelled my xbox live sub, can i get refund?

I recently sold my xbox 360 and i cancelled my xbox live sub. The subscription was only one month into the new yearly sub term. When i telephone Microsoft to cancel they said i was loosing out as no refund was available and they tried to pursuade me to keep it open.

Does anyone know if i am being duped here? Should i not be entitled to a refund? Even when i had the bloody console i hardly ever played it on xbox live never had the time.

I paid for the next 12 months but cancelled it one month into the 12 month period!

So i have paid for 11 months that i am not using!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i got a refund on unused time on my xbox live account around two years ago, due to me adding a 12 month sub code onto my account and thinking it would then add to the time i had left , which it does not.

so they refunded it to my credit card , don't know what the policy is now though .

I will have enough time to play it without having to justify being ripped off with a fee for online gaming.

How long do you need to play to justify the price tag of the console itself then?

Even without going into the cost of any of the extras that may or may not be needed for either console to make a fair comparison between them, any xbox package + Live subscription will still come in cheaper than what you are going to get a PS3 for, and I very much doubt you'll be getting one of them in March.

He's right. 16c a day is a rip off for a well managed online service that doesn't have teeney boppers on it. The PS3 will be full of young kids who don't need credit cards to sign up. That's enough of a reason to avoid it.

Question : Trying to... let's see... 'freeze' my account until I get the 360. My yearly payment is up in a couple of days and dont wana pay again until around december. Anyway of doing this without totally cancelling the account?
