Chopping a big pot up

During the €50 (;) ) omaha game the other night in the regency, an interesting situation popped up. I had about €4,000 in play and Player X had about €1,500. Not sure how the betting went but basically we ended up all-in on the flop of Qd4d5s. I was holding Qc2d3sJd for the up and down and the flush draw. Also, I had a Queen but I figued that was unimportant. We flipped the cards over and it turned out he had QsQhxdxd. His flush draw was smaller than mine so they now became blockers. He offered to chop the pot (over €3,500) and I agreed. We ran it anyway and I hit my flush on the river.

Another factor of course was that it was 7am (playing for 9 hours) and that I was only winning about €1,300. I subsequently won the last pot of the night - which I wouldn't have won had I lost that pot as my stack wouldn't have been sufficient.

I figured it was like a 45/55 situation. Anyone agree with chopping this?

I'd probably take the chop. The fact he has the blockers would sway my decision a little.

Out of interest, is whether or not the chop is done purely up to the 2 players, or can any once else at the table disagree to the chop and force the hand to played out 'properly'?

Actually someone did kick-up about it as he had €150+ alreay in the pot. We told him to shut up.

I was just thinking that if

    a). I'd folded 4 diamonds pre-flop,
b). Your opponent was a fishy idiot,
c). You'd announced that you were going to be bed in a couple of minutes

that I'd prefer if all the money stayed on the table, rather than you legging with a percentage of it. Therefore it would be in my interests to object to the chop ?

Its rarely that anyone else would disagree, as the two players can just play out the hand, leave the table and split whatever they like.

Its more like 60/40 in his favour (maybe more if he has straight blockers too, and/or can make a bigger straight than you), so bite his fvcking hand off.
