Panasonic in the US are offering a $400 rebate on the AE900U. It goes from Jan 27th to October 31st (Sale date) The only difference between this the the europe model is that the US does not have SCART, instead it has an extra set of connectors.

    Download the application here

Just be sure to get the AE900U (US version) as I'm assuming that the deal only applies to that model obviously.

The only difference is that it has an extra component in as a replacement for SCART. It supports PAL and it's variations as well as NTSC. Voltage is not a problem either as it is designed to travel, just like a laptop. Just plug it and and go!

Warranty wise, im not 100% sure what the deal is, but I would be VERY surprised if Panasonic do not offer an international warranty.

most american tv's won't take a pal signal, most european tvs will take pal and ntsc. not sure if it is the same for projectors, but it is something to be wary about..

also, the voltage range, if it doesn't take 220 you'll need a transformet..not easy to do with something mounted on your ceiling.

All of these, luckily, are non-issues. Most modern projectors (Especially small ones)are designed to travel. As a result they take both PAL and NTSC in addition to automatically supporting international voltages, just like a laptop. Just get the power to the unit and it takes care of the rest.

But dont just take my word for it, take Panasonic's

The only difference as I say is that the US version has one more component input in replacement for SCART. Sounds like a win\win to me.
