hi, i met a eircom rep today in a small town about 6 miles from my house, i asked if bb was available in the town he said not yet that he was preselling it, then he asked where i lived and i told him it was 6 miles away, he could tell me the exchange i was on and said it was been upgraded at the moment and would take 6 months to complete, is there anyway of checking this out?

Ring Eircom maybe or check the Broadband map, I don't know how up to date or reliable that thing is though.

That map's not up to date like you said. I know that my home town has broadband but it's not listed.

    Is your exchange there?
There is also a secret list that they have been doing for the last few months so there will be some that have been done but not on the map.
Sneaky b@stards. Pre-selling the exchanges before they're released to the wholesale operators.

there is another unpublished list of max 100 exchanges nationwide formulated early this year and done/being done now . The list the Kaiser published will be done thereafter.

eg kilcolgan and corrundulla and headford and Craughwell in county Galway are not on any published list but are being/have been done anyway.

They were done in order to stymie wireless operators as they are all c 10-15km from Galway City .
