Alarm suggestions

Need to get an alarm fitted to a couple of house. Prefer a system with a redialler and/or a monitored system. One house is not prewired and the other is. One also has garage and shed that need to hooked into the system somehow. Also personal safety features like panic buttons etc are also of interest. I don't think the Eircom system is good value, and I've seen mixed experience of the response to alarms from the system. but wondering what others experiences with alarms and the types of systems are.

I notice that a lot of places seem to be only putting sensors on specific (so called vulnerable) windows rather then all windows. I wonder is this a bit of cost cutting (obviously it is) as it wouldn't take much effort to pose as a workman with a ladder and access any point on a house.

I have a good Dublin firm who I have used twice now. Approx €2200 incl vat for full open sensor & vibration sensor on all windows, panic function, 2 X always live fire/smoke sensors, 2 X PIR motion detectors, seperate always on zone & disable code for gun case, 6 bedroom (2 en suite) house with office/study, dining room & 2 downstairs bathrooms. All including 1 year monitoring to the Garda Station. Job took 3 days to install & went live this evening!

Same set up in my last house, 3 bed semi, was about €1000.

PM if you want full quote spec on both houses & contact details. I have a couple of pals who used them too with no problems.

As I understand it, alarm installers now have to be registered with the private security authority. Going by the book, there's a EUR 3000 fine for using an unregistered contractor.
