Two TV's - one Sky sub - options?

OK, apologies up-front for asking this - I'm sure it's been asked a million times.

A simple scenario. I've Sky and a Chorus subscription working away merrily in my sitting room.

I now want to put a second TV in another room where there is nothing more that a power socket.

Ideally, I'll put a Kiss box or Pinnacle Showcenter 200 with the second TV - I've quite a few movies on my PC.

What are my options for viewing either Sky/Chorus or both on the second TV?
I'm thinking wireless here - using video-sender-type stuff.

Are there any fancy-schmancy gadgets out there to do this? I'm Ok with having to watch the same SKy channel or Chorus channel on both TV's - as long as I can have say Channel 4 on one TV and any Sky channel on the other.

    Thanks in advance.

Philips do a video sender with 4 inputs. Remote switch, otherwise any video sender from €45 to €120 are much the same and all legal CE mark ones are intercompatibel (i.e. a receiver of a different brand or TVX of a different brand will work.)

You can connect TV out PC to a video sender on a differnet channel and then the receiver you can change channel for PC. Much better than WiFi video and no need to run CAT5. Better quality picture than some IP clients if you have X1800 etc or decent TV out on PC graphics card.

Most PC graphics cards can work in Theater mode on TV out, i.e. anything like a Satellite, DTT, analog TV, Media player, DVD player or powerpoint will automatically be full screen on TV out even if minimised on PC. On ATI you need to install tray tools.

Are you saying that using a simple video sender, I can stream media (music, photos, divx, vob etc. ) from my PC to a TV?

am I picking this up correctly - I'd have two video senders - one on the Chorus/Sky end and one at my PC and a single video receiver at the second TV?

Or are you suggesting I deliver both Chorus/Sky where the PC is, put a 4 channel sender there and a receiver at each TV?

Yes.. As long as you have a fairly modern PC graphics card with a round RCA connector or 4, 6 or 8pin mini DIN with TV adaptor cable. Fairly standard.

You can have up to four TX and ANY number of RX. Any of the TX can be the Philips 4 input kind.

There are four TX channels A, B, C ,D All the TXs and RXs have either DIP switches or slide switch to set channel. The mentioned Philips system has 4 video inputs as well.

    You can do either idea.

    This sound interesting.

What software would I use on the PC to navigate my music/videos etc from the TV remote?

WinLirc (free, learns most remote) and maybe also some other software to control EVERYTHING from WinLirc.. I forget name... I 'll post again later.

You can buy or make a Serial port adaptor for IR receive or buy a USB one.

Or a Technotrend Skystar 2 (Budget PCI Satellite card) comes with the serial port doo-dah and a decent remote handset.

I have a sat card and TV card with a built in remote. I cut the cable and put RJ45 on the 3 wires. Then ran remote from shed at bottom of garden to living room via cat5 and and video + sound via satellite coax using a broken VHS as a RF modulator. I have two sets of video senders now, one ffrom Thomson and one Lidl.
