    Hi,

I'v been asked to paint a mural of a jungle scene on a wall for a play room.Normally only painting on canvas,I'm not too sure what paints to use, would it be poster paint type in the big squeezy bottles?

    Please advise,any suggestions appreciated,

    CHeers!

I did a mural in a kitchen years ago and I used ordinary emulsion paint, bought a few small size tins and mixed them as you would other paint. I don't think poster paint would wear very well in a child's room, but I've never tried it.

i would say poster paint wouldn't last very well...something more durable would be better. wikipedia has more detail on different types of paint :)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paint

I've always used just emulsion, tester pots and the small tins they mix up from the custom machines for samples are excellent and you can just use regular small paintbrushes for detailing.

    Hi ya,

I paint murals onto walls. I usually use acrylic paints. You can buy them in any art store, they are in 75ml tubes. once dry they are water proof, as they contain a plastic coating when dry. But for extra piece of mind I usually paint over when dry with clear varnish.

    Hope this helps.

    Grogs.
