Hi, I put in an application for transfer (I'm in 1st year ) last Monday, I'm aware the deadline was only just Friday gone so obviously I won't know just yet but when they do know, how will they tell me? Via email or letter? Just wondering what I'd need to look out for.
They said it wouldn't take very long and they'd know by yesterday seeing as I had the points for the new course, it was just about a space. I spoke to the department and they said theres definetly a place. Its annoying not to know officially though!
    End of rant.

Your tutor will be the person who should know first of all, so the best thing to do would be to keep in constant communication with him/her. Tie that fine line between harassment and curiousity!

Ok, just in case you don't hear back for a few days - it will not mean that you won't be allowed in. You have to be given the OK to transfer, which means checking you're eligible to transfer, and all that. I think the Senior Lecturer has to sign off on you transferring, but I can't remember for sure. If that is the case, he is a busy man but you should find out shortly.

You could find out tomorrow, you could find out in a week. Either way, your tutor is your best friend. There's nothing you can do but be patient as this is dependent on people and no formula in the world can tell you how quickly someone in Trinity will do something!

In the meantime, if you're going into a large class you should consider popping in to the lectures of the new course (they're big enough for you not to be questioned, but don't go to labs, and tutorials may be off-bounds).

Hi, thanks, I am sitting on the new lectures.
One lecturer gave me an essay assignment and told me to go to a Seminar and everything after I explained I'm not officially in the course.
But thanks for the info anyway!
    :)
