    Hey,
I'm travelling back from cardiff to cork tomorrow and I want to bring back a couple of cans of beer ( maybe 8 ) Will this have to be put in stowaway luggage or will they let me take it on the plane? I've tried to look at aer arann's t&c about luggage, but it dosen't say much,

    Nice one,
    Damien

Moved from AH, this is more of a travel query.
Not entirely sure if you will be able to bring the cans back. I would guess not.

Phone the airline you are taking.

i would but it's late now any my flight is early, I don't want to have to leave them at the airport. Not a big problem but still , the principle :)

I would say not allowed into the cabin.

I've brought beer and wine back from the continent on various different airlines in hand luggage without problem.

The last time I would have brought beer back, it would have been in bottles and about a year ago. With all the new security arrangements, it is probably better you check with the airline.

I've seen people with beer on the hand luggage a good few times. I reckon you're fine as long as you don't drink it on the plane. I think it's a case of them not wanting you to drink your own stuff, i.e. they will sell you their own beer so they can track how much drink people have had to make sure no one starts getting too drunk. I was on one flight where some guy was drunk and rowdy drinking his own stuff and they said that he had to give it up or he would be arrested when we landed. He was a right muppet though, shouting and annoying people and was standing in the aisle when the seatbelts sign was on.

You CANNOT take liquids, gels etc. on board any plane departing from the UK in your hand luggage. Cans will show up on the x-ray scanner and will be confiscated. The only exceptions are for baby food or medicines, which must be in a clear container and no more than 100ml in volume.

I don't know about in checked-in luggage, but wouldn't foresee any problems.

Ditto, fine in hold baggage, can't be taken in hand baggage from a UK airport.
