    Hi guys & gals,
Just bought a budget freecom external dvd burner for my laptop. The problem I'm having is that the burned dvd will play in the laptop, but not in my dvd player-(dvd-r & dvd-rw compatible)-is there a program needed to convert ???

    Thanks in advance,

    Bren

What type of disc did you burn DVD-R or DVD+R ?

Something also to consider is that if the disc plays in the laptop then the DVD drive in that is simply a better reader than your DVD player, could be it's picky about the quality of the media. Try another brand disc with the DVD player.

What make & model number player is it ?

And if you have Nero installed run Nero InfoTool what does it identify the drive as & does it give a firmware version ?
