i generally play limit Omaha H/Lbut I'll do my best with these....

Hand 1 is pretty straightforward you have the nut high and are guaranteed half the pot. You want to maximise the amount of mony in the pot for you -- to do this you need to furnish yourself with a call from both opponents. A bet in the region of $40-$50 would get you a call from lesser flushes as well as good low hands(you're really hoping both villains hold A3 here but thats more unlikely given the Ace you hold).

In hand two I would be cautious about betting it because you'll alomost certainly be called. Its very very likely that you oopponent has the same low hand and god know what kind of high hand he may have(almost certainly one that beats yours) - he raised preflop meaning A2X is VERY likely, as is A23X - he may even have a better diamond draw that yours. Pot control is of the essence here--check it... your low could well be counterfeited on the river and you'll get away cheap. If any card other than an ace or 2(except Ad) lands you can smooth call a lead from him.

The alternative of course is to blast it representing either 3,6 or 6,8.... but I wouldnt advise that....

    What that guy said!!!

In addition with hand one though, I'd say there's a possibility that any lows there will fold to a big bet.

No-one raised preflop and the flop was horrible for lows so chances are they both stayed in on high hands.

One of them will have some form of a low but nothing worth calling a big bet.

You may find someone calls you with second nut flush or something and scoops the low with something crap like 8-3 but you might just take the whole thing.

    Hand 1:
"You may find someone calls you with second nut flush or something and scoops the low with something crap like 8-3 but you might just take the whole thing."

So either option - big bet to get a low to fold, or small bet and hope for 2 callers - are decent options. FWIW, i went with option 2 and bet $33. Pretty sure villain1 had top set and was hoping for a crying call. Unfortunatly otrill has made a nut low along with a flush so he repotted and villain1 folded and we chopped.

    Hand 2:
As I suspected, I misplayed it badly. I potted it with instant regret when I got CRAI. And had to call and hope for a diamond. I really should have known A2 was highly likely, and that I didn't yet have a high hand. No diamond came and I'm down 70BBs to the A2 & a straight.

Is trying to get A2 or any high hand to fold here terrible play (hindsight sure says so  )?

The biggest mistake made by O8 players is overplaying the low draw/hand-its not advisable to be even consider a pot bet on the turn with the nut low unless you have a made high hand(or a sick draw to one).
