Never mind. Someone linked me to a thread that is really old and I just spotted the date.

But there have been an increasing number of account closures. When I try to log in they say to contact them by email or phone.

I've sent them 4 emails in over a week with no response. Guess I'll have to ring them.

Ringing them always sorts problems, they tend to close accounts if you log in from different locations to your usual one etc.

For me ringing them does absolutely squat, the live chat is useless too. Still waiting for this mysterious 'micro deposit' lol.

Mine was closed and I emailed them but only got a reply after I rang them.I got sick of waiting as I needed the money so rang them. Sorted in 2 mins they said there was some mess up with there system and that it closed it down.Something about the being logged in Spain but I never did. Id say that was bull though think they want you to ring them to confirm identity and stuff.

I don't mind ringing them, but I don't think its free when you call from a mobile, and they do say you can sort this out via email.

MIne was closed a few weeks ago when I logged in from China :D

A phonecall and it was sorted.

Same happened to me, I opened my account when I was living in America last summer, when I returned home I had to ring them to change over but once I rang them it was fine.

I think you have to ring on a land line which is free

All good here, all though I would never have a high volume of money being transfered though netteller

I wish this thread was here yesterday before I finally opened an account with them only to get fücked over. Btw their toll free number can't be dialed from mobiles but there is an expensive US number you can ring (+14032339466).

i am finding them a bit of a mare to deal with too. Mainly the security end of it i think, that fking micro deposit is a scam job anyway me thinks. Still waiting for it for ages now and i dont know was it ever lodged at least i could find no record of it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,563 ✭✭✭kinaldo

I hope they didn't take me too seriously when I said they could go fück themselves and that I wouldn't be re-opening my account.

Did you try and log in during the summer while in Vegas? My account was closed for this reason. Just rang them there and it was sorted out in two minutes. Although the phone number they had listed for Irish customers didn't work, so I had to make a 5 minute call to the States, but it was sorted out pretty much immediately.

I've had to ring them about 4 times. Each time I had logged in with an IP address situated outside of Ireland. Just part of their security system.. a bit over the top IMO. Takes about 5 minutes to sort out.

The toll free number is not free from your mobile, but most of the time they will insist on rining you back on the phone number registered with the account so it should only be a quick call.

Once you get to know how to use Neteller they're ok........

I would be careful though. They've lost a LOT of business... bankruptcy is probably something they have considered. More than likely some large bank will take them over.. but who knows!

1 if you are phoning the states you are crazy for not using skype
2 contact neteller and tell them that you spend a lot of times in different countries, they have a security measure in place that automatically locks your ac if you log on from a different country than normal. They can turn this off and then you can log on from anywhere.

I wired a couple of hundred to my account from Bank of Ireland last week.
Still waiting for a reply from them confirming it.
I wonder how long it'll take. Anyone ever do this?

Yep. 1st time I had to get onto Neteller after they got the money and ask them to actually put it in my account.
2nd time it went into my account automatically but I didn't get an email telling me it had.

Have never had any issues with neteller. Not sure if i've tried to use it in more than 1 country though.
1 user mentioned something about not receiving the micro deposit - i know i didnt the 1st time and had to contact them on that - i can't rem having any problems since - the only issues i have with using neteller are if u receive or make any payments to normal users you are charged 2%, but guess this is fair enuf, they need to make money after all and it's not as hefty as paypal charges. Neteller also do u over if u receive money outside of ur chosen currency. That's why mine is in dollars as I would think most of u would probably have too.

Strangely enough Neteller emailed me today to say they had re-opened my account. No security questions or anything, or any reason given as to why it was closed.
