In case anyone who wasn't there is curious...

    It was See No Evil

    It was pretty f*cking terrible.

It was pretty poor alright but I thought the audience made it great. There was fun had with it. Although I certainly wouldn't recommend paying to see it at a regular showing.

It was definitely awful, but it's slick look was a welcome change from some of the filth (Bava, i'm looking at you) that we sat through. The gore was top notch though, particularly the elaborate CG death at the end.

I'm always amazed at how well the surprise film sells, since it's a gamble that so rarely pays off. I'd never pay for it outside of a weekend pass.

They should have made something like Behind the Mask as the surprise film instead. I wasn't expecting much from that, but it turned out to be very good.

Give me filth anyday. I hate the slick look of modern horror. And god almighty was that film packed with completely unnessesary camera moves. Seriously, we know it's a camera..stop showing off.

I think the surprise film sells well because it's working on the 'box' theory. You know, you could have this expensive yacht or you could have what's in the box.... now, the yacht's a yacht but the box that could be ANYTHING.

Filth is the main reason I go to the horrorthon but having watched one film with Craig Fairbrass in it and then easily the worst film they've ever screened at the horrorthon, The Torturer (and i'm including Cradle of Fear in that...), I just wanted something that was reliably bad in a tolerable way, not painful to watch. Someone being killed, five minutes of bad acting where I can catch a bit of sleep, somebody being killed... Rinse repeat.
