Hi, does anyone know of a good LCD TV with a high resolution, eg: 1920 x 1200? I want to buy an external monitor for my MacBook but wan to get a TV as it will in my bedroom and used as a TV as well.:)

Even 1600 x 1000 would be fine but I'm finding it very hard to find any higher than 1366 x 768 or thereabouts.

    Any ideas?

Well usually you need to look at the higher end of the market for those kind of resolutions e.g 1080i/p HDTV's.

For example this 40" Sony Bravia has a 1920x1080 resolution for €3500 now some of that is the sony tax for the name alone but there are good displays from what I've read but you can possibly find displays with the resolution you want elsewhere.

As for an actual TV with a 1900x1200 capable display there are one or two out there from Viewsonic & Samsung these are actually intended to be used as computer monitors plus as a TV.

Try looking in Dabs 1080+ section as well.

as said above, generally highest res TV will be 1920x1080 to show native HD. 1920x1200 is Wide UXGA and is generally only used for computer monitors, where it is now pretty common..

Yeah, I think I may have to stick to a monitor for now. I just didn't want to buy an LCD TV with 1366x768 'cos I already have 1280x800 on my MacBook. I'm looking for extra desktop space as well as a TV.

    Cheers!

Oh, and I've just done my sums and realised the new TV will need to be 16:10 format also to avoid stretching. Oh well...
