    Hi all,
after reading a thread in the beer/wine/spirits forum about Sainsburys in Newry I thought I would ask for information here. Outside of cheaper and a wider selection of alcoholic beverages, is it worth a trip up for grocery shopping? And if so, is the Quays in Newry the best place (coming from Dublin) or are there other recommendations?
Also, I have heard mention of outlet malls in the north - are these better than the ones in Kildare/Rathdowny?
    Thanks for reading,
    R

As far as I can make out stuff like fruit and veg is more or less the same price. Tinned food seems to be cheaper. M&S in The Buttercrane Centre is around the same price as here.

And in Sainsbury's (in The Quays shopping centre) I got a Vileda mop for for around €10 and down here they're €16.95 in Atlantic!

Also got an O.K. electric lawnmower for a decent price from Argos in Newry.

That's all I can think of for now but will be haeding back up there for a mega-shop as soon as my banjaxed car is fixed! ;)

I swear by it. at xmas time you carnt get into it. Sainsburys also give a preferential rate for euro cash. If you go up, go EARLY !!!! The place gets mad.

It is cheaper to buy jameson, beer and all spirits up there as the vat and duty is completely different. Much lower.
