Darkened Car Windscreens?

    I suffer as I have stated in earlier threads quite severly from glare...Shiny enviroments/objects irritate my eyes a lot, causing soreness and near momentary blindness. I am however interested in learning to drive and am concerned about sunshine or night enviroments. Thus I am wondering whether anti-glare/darkened windscreens exist or are legal. I am hoping to meet the National Council for the Blind and a few opticans in relation in the near future...but while I'm waiting I felt it would be worthwhile to check with the brains of boards! Thanks in advance for any comments, Alan

    To be honest, if your eye condition causes almost momentary blindness you may not be allowed to drive as this would cause a danger to yourself and other road users/pedestrians. Particularly as you cannot predict when/if this momentary blindess will occur.

    I've not heard of windscreens that would adequately prevent glare to the extent that you may require. That's not to say they don't exist. Also I'm not sure if they would be legal here either.

    Perhaps post this in the Motoring forum as they may be able to advise of you of the availablity/legality of such windscreens in this country.
