I've been getting more into the b&w recently, and I like it for tight crops with loads of facial expressions. I guess these are more like sports portraits due to the close ups.
Other than that, no real reason.

If I shoot at night, with high ISO, I often go to b&w as it reduces the effects of noise, but that's not the case here.

Agree with sleepy, the first would be good apart from the crop, the second is good, nice one.
The third just looks like any random shot, sorry. I think the fact that the t-shirt isn't white takes away from it, not your fault, just commenting
