I have a problem so hope you guys can help!!

We have windows 2000 server running on a dell optiplex gx520,
Basically we installed Norton Ghost 2003 so we could make a backup image of the drive.
Everything installed fine and was working fine until it rebooted the computer to start the backup.

The backup screen opened (like a dos based program) and then did nothing, we left it for ages and nothing happened.
So we decided to restart the computer and are given 2 options retry norton which does nothing or cancel norton and return to windows which also does nothing.

we've tryed a few things now and all options leave us in dos and wont start windows, if i get to the command prompt and C:\ and type dir no windows folders or anything is found only norton crap is there.

I rang dell and they suggested chkdsk /r , fixmbr and fixboot.
    but this doesnt work either!

does anyone know how i can get windows up and running again, preferably without reinstalling windows!

I'd try booting off a 'Live' CD to see what the craic is with your drives & data.
