Hello, I'm a bit of a serial lurker who is a bit afraid of posting up pictures. I've just started taking photography kind of seriously, nothing major but I like to take nice photos. Anyway, I'm in Geneva for a while, and as it seems like a perfect place to photograph, what with the architecture and the lake and the Alps and the gleyven... So I've decided to start posting up pictures to a blog, mainly as incentive to take lots of photos and improve as a photographer. I'd love any comments or criticism that you venerable lot would have to share. The URL is http://fourmonthsingeneva.blogspot.com/

Feel free to ignore the writing, I'm sure you won't be interested in that - it's mainly about the photos!

    Thanks.

Nice photos. I'm a bit of a photography hobbyist myself.

    What equipment are you using?

Some nice work there, do post a few more on the boards directly if you want some more advice or C+C. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the comments. I'm using a D50 with the kit lens and a Sigma 70-300 cheapo zoom. I'll try and pluck up the courage to post here directly! I took some pictures of the Alps on Sunday, it was very misty everywhere but even so I felt that the pictures I took came out fairly badly, they were very noisy and dark, and lacking in detail. Should I start a new thread or just use this one to post other pictures up?

Start a new thread. Generally most people have 1 or 2 pics for critique. I have noticed some others post a few more especially if there is a theme invloved.

Check back within this section to see what others have done but I hope what I have written is good enough for ya.

That fountain is amazing, I only passed through Geneva in the Summer on the way to the alps but it was great to see it from the plane as I was landing and taking off.
