Need help selling on ebay

I've sold on ebay before and have had no problems but I made a bit of a mistake today.
I'm selling two tickets for a concert so the part that says quantity I filled in as 2, I now realise that this suggests I have two sets of two tickets. This was a stupid mistake on my part so I tried the edit item thing but it doesn't allow you to change the quantity. I added a note to the description of the item explaining the error because really I don't want to mislead anyone, but is this enough?

Is there any other way I can fix this? Any advice appreciated.

I would say thats fine but send a link to the item if you want, you did make a note of it and its up to the buyer as well to read the description as well.

I don't know, doesn't that mean the 2 highest bidders win each item? You'll have some trouble when it comes to auction close.

If nobody has bid yet, can you close the auction, and relist it with the correct quantity. Failing that, email ebay.

I have two bids on it now so I'd like to try avoid later problems. If I end the listing and then relist wont that look really dodgy? Can't seem to find a contact for ebay to help on this either.

Found a contact and have emailed, hope this gets sorted.

Ruu - I'm not sure is it ok to put up a link as these are tickets related to a topic we're not supposed to talk about on boards.

I had this happen on an item I was bidding on a while back; the seller listed the lot (which had 10 individual pieces) as 10 lots (made the smae mistake as the OP)...

He edited in a warning to bidders, but it was only after I mailed him asking what he intended to do when 10 people won his one item that he got on to eBay and ahd the listing removed.

    I would advise the OP here to do the exact same for two reasons;
    1) The price will not go as high as it should as this is a dutch auction and
    2) You end up with a pissed bidder who is well within their rights to leave you neg feedback

When eBay withdraw the listing I think you get a relisting for free....you could then email all interested bidders explaining why it's been relisted...problem solved.

eBay really should fix that aspect of the listing form as it seems to confuse a lot of people...
Oh and best not to post a link lest we all be dragged up before a judge...

    Thanks for the replies.

Ebay got back to me and basically said the same, end the listing and then relist it. I agree they should allow you to amend the quantity when you go through the revise process as it avoids bidders being disappointed and allows sellers to fix their silly mistakes :)

Could you have set the asking price at a ridicously high price? Or have a mate up the bidding?

If you have a mate up the bidding, you risk having your account suspended for shill bidding.

This seems to happen often with ticket listings. A seller is selling a pair of tickets and figures he has two tickets so he enters the quantity at two. This creates a multiple item or Dutch auction where bidders can bid for one item or more than one item. If you end up with two winners, each having won a ticket each and expecting to have won a pair of tickets each but you only have one pair, then you have a big problem.

eBay does have a new Sell Your Item form and if you click on the "?" icon next to "Quantity", a link to a help section pops up which states:

"If you're selling one item or a small set of items (such as a pair of concert tickets) to one buyer, enter "1" for quantity."
