New Mp3 player Advice

I'm looking to buy a new MP3 player tomorrow, but I'm not too sure which to go for. I'm leaning towards the Creative Zen V Plus 4GB. Anybody got any opinions on this? Does it support drag and drop? Or do you have to use propiertry software to transfer music? Any other players to consider?

    Cheers. :)

You're going to have to provide a few more details like what your budget is, what you'll mainly be using it for, is music your only requirement, is long battery essential, would you pay for more storage or is 4gb fine enough, would 80GB suit you better for example? Also, is buying it in Ireland the only option available or would you buy online?

I plan to spend about €250. I have an iRiver H140 now, but I don't need the space. I'd rather a smaller, more compact player. Battery life isn't too important, but I'd like one with a reasonable battery life (8+ hours)

I'm not too up to date with what's best in that capacity area myself, I really only concentrate on the high capacity models so hopefully somebody else will be able to help:)

Isn't the Zen Vision M now at this price? If so that's a great device, well featured and 30GB. The Zen V Plus is a tiny little fella, and uses Media Player to transfer songs, for more information try this site - http://www.epizenter.net/news.php

Yea, I've been reading some reviews of that, too. Seems to perform well, but I'd rather a smaller player than a bulky HD player.

I saw a 8gig Ipod Nano on Pixmania for about your budget.

Thats another option I was looking at, but I detest Itunes, so, it's a but of a compromise.

I'm not sure if it's available for the new nano's yet, but rockbox will solve the itunes+drag and drop issues for iPods:)

I have Rockbox on my iRiver, and TBH, I'm not too impressed with it. I prefer the layout of the standard iRiver firmware. I assume it's pretty much the same on the iPod?

Just incase anyones wondering, I splashed out and got a 30gig iPod Video, some Sennheiser(sp?) CS300s and this speaker dock. All in all, I'm very happy. The iPod isn't anywhere as bad as I was expecting. iTunes isn't as hard to use as I thought it was, the speaker dock is amazing. For €70 in HMV the sound off it is almost as good as the JBL one for €200+. Cx300s are brilliant, too.

Yea, pretty much. It's not too big compared to my iRiver, wider but slimmer.

It's a small bit taller than a Lynx deoderant, and about two iPods lieing side by side wide, not very deep either. Don't have measurments, hence the comparisons, but it's really not that big.
