Hi, my gf's camera broke (finepix f410) and she has been quoted EUR180.00 to fix it. Is this a rip off and should she just buy a new one? any good cameras around the €200 mark? any help appreciated :) cheers

Unfortunately camera repairs are a ripoff there are only a few specialist places in the country that do these. F410 was never a great camera to begin with.
I did see a Finepix S5600 on Pixmania for around €217 this is a far superior camera and a great price for it I'm buying one next week.

The F410 is quite an old model isn't it? She'd be better off spending the money on a new camera - something like the Fuji A400/500/600 would be the more up to date equivalent. I think the A600 is around €230 in the shops here, probably cheaper online.

camera repairs are pricey alright. Sent a Casio Exilim away to be fixed and theyre looking for £70, despite it being in warranty. Bah!
