Bf2142 demo prob

BF2142, just downloaded the demo(it took 12 merciless f@ck!n hours, its savage except for this little niggle, im always losing my connection with the EA master server, anyone know how to fix this/come across this glitch???

yes indeed, "Connection to the Master Server has been lost", happens every single time I play, and always seems to happen after the same amount of time. No problem getting in, I can even get a few kills before it happens. But it is every time. I've tried turning off my firewall and some other things, but to no avail. And all of the other games are still working perfectly online.

Some people have 'fixed' the problem by uninstalling AVG antivirus, but it does seem to be a server issue. The server sends out a request to see if you're still connected and for some reason either doesn't get a reply or doesn't understand it and therefore disconnects you.

Hey lads, I've downloaded this demo yesterday and decided to give it a try.
After getting passed the "insert Disc 1" problem I moved onto the DirectX issue, once I progressed after completeing that I got to where I am now...
Punkbuster.


I get disconnected after about 30 seconds of joining a server, at the bottom I am being spammed "Punkbuster Client: Corrupt or mismatched pb client (8BB4)"
I checked in console and all I can see is this. Once the time is up I get kicked and the message I get from the kicking is "You have been kicked by PunkBuster".

Completely baffled and I have been trying lots of things and I've worn google out to bits.

Also;
The game runs perfectly with all settings maxed out as high as they can go and I'm getting max Frames per second, which I believe is 101, because it just stays at that constantly. So I pretty much think its down to PB client being out of date or SOMETHING like that but its driving me mad.

Little or any help is appreciated.... a LOT.

Have you tried to update Punkbuster manually?

Well I think so.

I mean I went to the PB site and downloaded the files it said to get incase PB doesnt update automatically. I put them in my Electronic Arts\BF2142\pb folder.

I pretty new to using punkbuster in its current form like this.
I've never played battlefield before either.
The last time I remember using punkbuster was when CS servers had it and you had to run an executable of the program.
