83 bus from Rathmines to Ballymun Road is probably best

You're much better off cycling to Westmoreland Street, then you can get any bus - 11, 13, 19a, 116 - and you miss the traffic, assuming you're travelling at office hours. Otherwise get a bus to Westmoreland Street (Fleet Street, last stop on any 15) and change there. Enjoy!

I think the 83 will drop you at the corner of Ballymun road (white, not yellow on the map) and Finglas road and it's a 10-12 minute walk to DCU from there. You get out beside the Met Eireann (pyramid) building. Mappy

whats the best site for a map regarding the different bus routes in dublin, like an overall map of the different routes going out of the city centre?

needs to be better than this, and go a little bit more south/north

    thanks

    No such map exists online.

The Dublin City street guide is useful. http://www.osi.ie/mapping/maps/street.asp

The atlas covers a smaller area http://www.osi.ie/mapping/maps/pocket.asp

The 83 will drop you about a 15 minute walk away from the the ballymun road entrance.

If you wanted to get 2 busses, you could get off the 83 in Phibsboro and change to a 19.

Don't get the 19, it drops you the same place as the 83. Change to the 19A if you want.

I was working on a map of some of the routes in my area but it's not very many and not complete. There's a definite northside leaning and it only works in Firefox for the moment. It would be great if google maps was searchable in Ireland :/

Depending on where in Rathmines, you could go to Ranelagh and get an 11/a/b

The 16 goes to DCU from the Harolds X side of Lainster Road.

im on leinster road....very close to Mc Donalds in Rathmines. Im gonna walk (12mins walk) as far as top of Camden st / bottom of Rathmines road (parallel with Harcourt st) and get 19a from there.
