Hey, I did the whole search thing and didn't really find anything useful, so I resorted to opening a new thread. One of the lads here is trying to figure out what to buy the gf of 2 years for her graduation from NUIG next week. He's looking to spend around €80 on it. Trouble is, she already owns most things, so have you, the good people on boards.ie, any ideas?

    Cheers

Personally I think she would enjoy the gesture of a fancy meal somewhere more then a material object. Many girls do in such circumstances...

Hmmm good idea Havok but I think he's set on getting her something she can keep

Blow the whole budget on a 20'x5' banner proclaiming undying love and admiration for her wonderful achievement which he (/you...??! One of the lads yeah right:D ) should hold aloft when her name is called at the ceremony. Accompanying whooping and cheering is entirely at your own disrection.

Of course if you would like to STILL be with said girl at the end of the day, I would lean toward more subtlety and agree with Havok here. Jewellery is good to mark such occasions, but with the budget you're working with, its probably inadvisdable as it might look quite cheap relative to what she would pick for herself.

I would suggest a meal at her favourite restaurant or somewhere special where you've eaten before, either as just a couple thing or maybe secretly invite her friends as well and have them there when she arrives. Her folks will prob bring her for dinner on the eve of the Grad so maybe plan it for the next night or whatever.

Also, pick up a smart silver/pewter photo frame for when she gets her grad photos back. Shows your thinking, she'll love it.;)

The invoice is in the post.:D

Silver jewellery. Get onto ebay, and buy her a fake tiffany's nugget or two. they're pretty cheap, and everyone likes tiffanys.

A fancy meal is pretty good for any occasion. Is it something you both want to do together or separately? Does she like to be pampered, maybe a day in one of those salons or something. So many threads like these lately, support this forum idea. :) Danke.

Hang on... this girl has just come through collegeand she 'already owns most things'...? Student life has changed since I did it!!

    How about a camel?

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

While I hate with the heat of a thousand suns the totally overused, inappropriate and downright lazy expression “LOL”, and further, feel all those who use it in such a cheap and tawdry fashion should be roundly and unabashedly abused for such, I did however COL at your response. I hold you fully to blame Ikky Poo

How did he cover it? Cos I have these pants and though they fit tight, I must admit that in some lights it looks bad, but if he has a way of masking it I would love to know.

Whoa whoa whoa..! As sorry as I am for your trouble, I'll not be caught up in the covering of anyone's camel toe, trouser snake or indeed any other animal appendage.

May I suggest a pair of these...

EDIT: The hat is, of course, entirely optional.
