that I mentioned in the pub.

    1. Katrin Eismann Adobe Photoshop Restoration and Retouching

This book gives you tricks straight away.

    2. Dan Margulis Professional Photoshop: The Classic Guide to Color Correction

    A classic.

There is new edition coming up in December 2006. My advise is to wait as the current edition is out of print.

    3. Dan Margulis Photoshop Lab Color: The Canyon Conundrum and Other Adventures in the Most Powerful Colorspace

A classic one too. LAB however is quite advanced so the book is too.

    4. Deke McClelland Photoshop CS2 Bible

I'm using this as a extended version of the manual.

I was just about to say that. It's also so big that it is a pain to read comfortably.

I have a couple of Scott Kelby's and Martin Evenings books. Evening is heavy enough and expects some knowledge before reading. Kelby's are by far the best. Practical and really easy to understand. Highly recommended.

I have Martin Evening's Photoshop CS2 for Photographers, it's a bit "heavy" as Danny said, but does the job for me :)
